Our Goals
In 1996, the first official SOUTH PENINSULA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION was established. The executive committee consisted of ex-students from the 60s era and they operated with much enthusiasm for about two years. They succeeded in raising some funds which has been utilised to purchase chairs for the new school hall. Being an official body, a constitution was drafted. They set up contacts in Australia and Canada and had various items of South Peninsula memorabilia made which was sold to ex-students. What proved to be frustrating for them was the struggle to create an awareness of the Alumni and to recruit membership. We owe a debt of gratitude to them for having pioneered the Alumni Association and know that their continued interest will keep them involved into the future.
Our focus thus far has been to strategise around creating an awareness of the Alumni, recruitment of members and the raising of funds. Even though the current committee consists mostly of ex-students from the 80s, we are by no means an exclusive club. We are looking to become an Alumni Association for all ex-students, from 1956 to 2006 and beyond. We are constantly looking to include people from all eras for their valuable input and assistance. If you feel you have a contribution to make then please contact us.
If you would like to become a member, go to Links and download our membership form. Please feel free to copy and distribute the form to other prospective Alumni members with whom you are in contact.
